OLD (2012) Art, staring at a Warhol.

I bought an annual pass to MOMA. I needed a forcing function to bring me closer to the bohemian lifestyle. From now on, I would judge art and the people around it.

Interaction with art is incredibly personal. Radical art and I mean that in an emotionally moving kind of way, makes one feel. Most of art makes you think (wtf?), few exceptions, at least in my case can do both.

Great art grabs your subconscious. I'm curious as to why a painting makes you feel a certain way, regardless of what I tell myself to think.

Mediocre art drives the same question as mediocre work. Is this person truly committed to the work and what could she have done if the muse really came out to play.

I get exhausted at art galleries and museums relatively quickly. I believe that I have a relationship with a piece of work, especially if it's of a live person. I've stared at Warhol's Debbie Harry before and wondered what kind of personality she would have in bed. I found her face very attractive even with the 80s hair which made her look like a labrador.

The heavy blue shadow and thick red lip stick comes of as clownish, but then again it could be interpreted as a mask. She poses her feminine features in a way that satirizes being a woman in modern society, hiding the individuality of the face under the surface.

Warhol had his cake and ate it too. His art made a farce of what we take so seriously and yet it became the establishment.
