Everyone's a fool

We are all fools. Silver haired wise men are no better than babes. We construct castles in our minds and fortify those with self serving logic. Yet at the slightest hint of wind, the structure crumbles under the weight of its own bullshit. When we are frail and illogical, we are artists. When we a strong, we are usually just lucky, but in the long term, everyone is a fool.

Civilizations, men’s greatest embodiment of social complexity will all eventually go like the Mayas. Every written word evaporated like the dreams of the privileged, as they watch the coming of the new dawn and a yet another empire.

We believe that we are invincible and get stuck further and further in quicksand, with each new choice, all the way till the bitter end. Great Wall of China snakes across the globe as astronauts consider it’s beauty, but in the end it’s a monument to the foolishness of great men challenging immortality through the pages of antiquity.

Most people have the decency and common sense to shy away from their place in history. They give up on their dreams shortly after discovering their existence. It seems that even every day ambition of the masses fizzles with foolishness that interstellar explorers in the millennia to come will ponder endlessly.

From the idle goings of the bourgeoisie to the self inflicted depression of the artist, we don’t thrive as a species without unnecessary mountains to climb. We did so with the avant garde of cubism and we are doing so today with Bitcoin.

In love, we volunteer our stupidity, under only slightest veil of reason. This perhaps is the one true excusable instance in our otherwise foolhardy existence. For love inspires us to reach for the heights from which we shall later crash.

Like an artist, whose masterpiece materializes through his obsession with a woman, only to discover that her love has cooled by the time the piece is named and revealed for the world to judge.
